Gottman Method Couples Therapy

happy couple therapy session is held at

The Gottman Method Couples Therapy is science-based relationship counselling grounded in over 40 years of research by John and Julie Gottman. The method is based on the Sound Relationship House Theory which analyses and builds skills in the following areas of your relationship/marriage: Friendship and admiration, conflict management, shared life goals and meaning, trust and commitment. Sessions are recommended to be 90 minutes in length and Gottman's research has found that two of these a week yields the most effective results, however frequency can be tailored to suit each couple. RCP offers a free in depth analysis of your relationship using the Gottman Relationship Check up tool which includes a 480 email questionnaire that yourself and your partner fills out separately. This will assist you and Wendy to find out what your relationship strengths and weaknesses are, further aiding your treatment plan.

Couples with the following issues may benefit from the Gottman Method Couples Therapy:

* Frequent arguments

* Poor communication

* Emotionally distanced couples on the verge of separation

* Specific problems such as sexual problems, infidelity, money and parenting.

Healthy couples may also wish to have an annual relationship check in - a bit like an annual car service! It doesn't hurt to continue maintenance of one of your most important investments. Similarly, the Gottman Method can be useful for premarital counselling to help build a solid foundation for marriage.
