Wendy Henriks (BMgmt HonsPsych PostGradDipPsychTh) is Rainbow Care Psychology's owner and Principal Psychologist. She is a registered psychologist who has a special interest in children, adolescents, & families. She also works with adults and couples. First registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency in 2006, Wendy has worked in community based settings, in schools, as well as private practice. She has over eighteen years experience working with a wide variety of presenting issues and ages, including Anxiety, Depression, couples counselling, parenting, grief and loss, social skills,  anger, Intellectual and Learning Disabilities, self esteem, Trauma, bullying, abuse, ASD, ADHD, OCD... and more. She provides caring, quality and personally tailored service to meet yours and/or your child's treatment goals.

 

Wendy is a client centred therapist who utilises evidenced based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, structured and unstructured Play Therapy, as well as Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment therapeutic approaches. Wendy also has experience using Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Interpersonal Process Therapy. She is also trained in Gottman couples therapy and Child Parent Relationship Therapy.

 

Wendy aims to make child sessions friendly and fun and tries to incorporate a systems approach by working with your child's school, family and other professionals when necessary and with your consent.
